POINTS FOR NZ ORDER OF MERIT
There will be a minimum of 08 tournaments in the IGU CHAMPIONS NZ TOUR.
Any best 5 performances of a Player out of the 8 Events will be considered for the NZ Order of Merit List. The Rankings obtained in the NZ Tour (5/8 Events) will form the basis for the Players entry to the NATIONAL Final. There will be no Mandatory Tournaments.
Points will be awarded upto15 Positions for Cat A and B Boys & Girls and up to 10 Positions for Cat C and D Boys and Girls.
Points for Sub-Junior Boys and Girls will be awarded up to 10 positions only (Cat C and D Boys and Girls)
All Zonal Events will be 2 day Events preceded by a Practice round and will be conducted on standard IGU affiliated Courses.
The Finals are not open for Cat E. Cat E will play a total of 18 Holes in any Event (9 Holes on Day 1 and 9 Holes on Day 2).
Points for Ties (except in the case of 1st position in Cat A-B ,Cat B, Cat C, Cat D and Cat E which will be decided by a Sudden Death Play Off) for all other positions, will be shared equally by combining the points for the positions involved. Fractions will be rounded off to the next round figure. e.g. 0.1 will be treated as 1. No points will be awarded to Cat E.
In case two or more players are having the same aggregate points in the Order of Merit then to decide the Overall Ranking, maximum no. of wins will be taken into account. If there still remains a tie then the better stroke average of the most recent 3 tournaments, in which all the players tied have participated, will be taken.
Merit List Points will be awarded to all players as per the above chart irrespective of category and no. of players that have participated. Merit List will be prepared separately for Cat A, Cat B, Cat A-B, Cat C and Cat D in a respective Zone.
PLAYING IN A HIGHER CATEGORY (Junior Boys and Girls)
Any player(s) from Category C who wish to participate in a higher Category of B can do so by applying in writing to the Indian Golf Union, 15 days prior to the event, provided he/she meets the handicap criteria of the higher category. If the player wishes to revert to the original category, then, he/she is required to apply in writing, to the Indian Golf Union and at the discretion of the Championship Committee, will be allowed to revert, from the third event there after (irrespective of the calendar year) provided he/she still meets the age and handicap criteria for that Category.
