TOURNAMENT POLICIES

TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE
The Tournament Committee consisting of club representative(s) and IGU Official(s) will be formed by the Tournament Director.
The Tournament Committee will have the sole discretion to interpret the conditions for the competition and to give decisions on any query / ruling / disputes arising during the Tournament.
Any matter not covered under the conditions of play will be decided by the Committee and their decision shall be final and binding on all the participants. The Tournament Director reserves the right to fix / alter starting times. In the event of any Round(s) being cancelled due to inclement weather or for any other reason, the Tournament Director shall assess the situation and take a decision which shall be binding on all the participants.

INTERPRETATION OF CONDITIONS OF PLAY
The Tournament Committee will be the sole authority to interpret the Conditions of the Competition and to give decisions on any query which may arise out of them.
Any matter not covered under the conditions of play will be decided by the Tournament Committee and their decision shall be final.
In the event of any Round/Rounds being cancelled due to inclement weather or for any other reason, the Tournament Committee shall determine the action to be taken.

TIES:
In the event of a tie for the 1st Place for Junior Boys Championship Winner (Cat A-B ),Winner of Cat B Boys & Girls, Winner of Cat C & D Boys and Girls and Winner of Cat E Boys and Girls, there will be a “Sudden Death” Play off, hole by hole, immediately after completion of the Final Round.
The play of holes and Sequence of play will be decided by the Tournament Director. Other ties will be decided based on the lowest score over the last 18, 9, 6, 3, & 1 hole, respectively.
RULES OF GOLF:
•The Rules of Golf as published by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and the local rules of the host golf club will govern play.
•Questions shall be settled by the Tournament Committee whose decision shall be final.

PRIZES:
• Prizes will be awarded for each tournament to the top three players in each age group.
• Different prizes in each Category will be awarded to girl participants provided that a minimum of 5 girls participate in that category.
• If there are less than 5 entries in any age category the Committee may, at its absolute discretion, award less than 3 prizes for that category.

WITHDRAWALS
Will be permitted upto 5pm on the specified last date of entry of the event.

ENTERING AN EVENT
Once you have entered a tournament, you will receive an email only confirming your entry has been received. You will still have to complete registration formalities in person a day prior to the event on the day of practice round to ensure that your name reflects in the draw.

PRACTICE ROUNDS
A practice round one day prior to the tournament will be allowed. Juniors will have to ensure that they do not hold any group(s) that are following them. Bunkers to be raked and only one ball to be played. It is Mandatory for all Players to repair Divots and carry sand bags. Players must vacate the course at time announced in order for course staff to prepare and mark the course for following day’s play.

We can make best effort to arrange accommodation for you close to the venue. Please mail us or call us for rates and bookings.

ARRIVING AT THE EVENT (For SHOTGUN Starts):
Registration opens 1 hr. before the SHOTGUN TEE OFF TIME. At the venue look for our registration desk and make yourself known to the Event Director.
Once you have signed in, your will receive your scorecard and confirmation of your tee time and groupings. Our MANDATORY RULES CLINIC will follow this.
Participants are advised to report at the registration desk a little earlier in order to avoid overcrowding. Participants will be briefed and directed to their starting positions by tour officials.

We cannot accommodate late comers as it’s a "shotgun start" format wherein various groups start from different tees at the same time ensuring that they all able to finish at the same time in order to have a full attendance at the prize distribution.

• You must proceed to the allotted tee 15 minutes prior to your tee time.
• Late arrival to the tee may result in two stroke penalty or disqualification.
• In the case of a shotgun start, the Event starter will blow a long siren to indicate start of play.
• It is acceptable to applaud and give a warm welcome to every player.

TEES: TYPICAL YARDAGES
The IGU NZ Champions Junior Golf Tour staff selects specific hole-by-hole tournament yardages for each division in the days leading up to the tournament. Total yardage for each division varies for each tournament based on many factors including but not limited to: Age category, golf course conditions, projected weather conditions and design/set-up of individual holes. Typical total yardage range for each division is as follows:

Boys 15-17: 6,400 - 7,100 yards (18 holes)
Girls 15-17: 5,500 - 6,200 yards (18 holes)
Boys 13-14: 6,100 - 6,500 yards (18 holes)
Girls 13-14: 5,200 - 5,800 yards (18 holes)
Boys 11-12: 5,800 - 6,200 yards (18 holes)
GIrls 11-12: 5,000 - 5,600 yards (18 holes)
Boys & Girls 9 -10: Par 3's - between 90-170 yards; Par 4's between 220-300 yards; Par 5's - between 260-320 yards (18 holes - Upto 5100 yards)
Boys & Girls 8 & under: Par 3's - between 90-140 yards; Par 4's between 150-200 yards; Par 5's - between 200-250 yards (9 holes - Upto 1600 yards)

PRACTICE RANGE
Driving Range will be available for warm up/practice on payment of ball charges directly by participant

CADDY POLICY/ FEES / OUTSIDE CADDIES & PARENTS
•Category A and B Junior Boys are not permitted the use of caddies during the Tournament. They can however use hand pulled trolley which must NOT be powered.
•Category A and B Junior Girls are permitted the use of caddies during the Tournament.
•Tournament Director may at his discretion permit use of caddies for Categories A and B keeping in mind the topography of the Golf Course and weather conditions.
•In such cases where Caddies are permitted, there will not be any restrictions on who may be the Caddy & Club Rules, if any, apply

Club Rules for CADDIE: As per club rules

F&B at clubhouse will be available at the clubhouse restaurant.

COMPLIMENTARY WATER
CHAMPIONS JUNIOR GOLF will however be providing 2 complimentary packaged drinking water bottles for the participants on the 2 days of play.

RECORDING OF SCORES
Each player will be assigned as "marker" to record the score of another player in the same group. However, the player is responsible for the correctness of the scores recorded on his/her scorecard.
Each player shall record the scores of the player being marked as well as his/her own score AFTER EACH HOLE PLAYED.

After completion of the round, the player shall:
•Check his/her hole by hole score for accuracy
•Settle any doubtful points with the Committee
•Ensure that his marker has signed his Card.
•Counter-sign the card himself, and
•Return the card to the Recorder as soon as possible.

REQUIRED DRESS CODE AT THE HOST FACILITY AT ALL TIMES
Hats/visors must be worn with brim forward, males must remove hat/visor while indoors.
Collared shirts or mock turtlenecks (host golf course permitting) MUST be worn and TUCKED IN at ALL times.

PROHIBITED DRESS AT THE HOST FACILITY
Tank tops, T-shirts
Denim shorts, short-shorts, cut-off shorts, gym shorts, jeans
Earrings (males)
Body Piercings
Tattoos (must be covered)

VENUE ADVISORY
SMOKING is NOT ALLOWED at any CHAMPIONS JUNIOR GOLF events.
Parents/ Spectators/Caddies are requested to please STRICTLY adhere to the above advisory.

SMOKING / LIQUOR / BANNED SUBSTANCES
Players must not make use of any drug to enhance performance. Should a player show evidence of use of a drug for nontherapeutic purpose, the Committee may require the player to undergo a drug test. Any player infringing this Condition may be disqualified. Players who are on medication and in doubt as to their clinical status should seek advice from the IGU.
•Smoking/drinking of liquor/consumption of banned substances (drugs) is prohibited at all times during the period of the tournament.
•Competitor shall not knowingly make use of any drug to enhance his/her performance.

USE OF MOBILE PHONE
Use of mobile phone or any electronic gadget is not allowed during the stipulated round of golf during the tournament.
Use of the mobile phone will be under supervision and in an emergency viz. to call the Referee etc.

GALLERY
Parents / Relatives / Coaches / Spectators and friends are permitted on the Golf Course.

All of the above must at all times keep a distance of min 50 yards from the Juniors on the Golf Course during Tournament Rounds.

During the tournament round(s) any form of communication with the player shall be construed as advice to the player. In the first instance a warning will be given. In the second instance the player will be given a penalty of two strokes. Repeated occurrence is liable to have the Player disqualified from the tournament and the concerned person(s) will be asked to leave the Golf Course.

Use of mobiles is banned for spectators on the Golf Course.
Volunteers may be used by the Tournament Dir as Marshals and Observers.

IMPORTANT FOR 2016 SEASON
(FOR HANDICAPPING / SCORING AVERAGE PURPOSES/ PUTTING AVERAGES/GREENS IN REGULATION)
Please submit your strokeplay scorecard with hole-by-hole score and number of putts on every hole recorded.

PRIZE PRESENTATIONS
Each presentation will take place after close of play. Smart golf attire is acceptable; however please do note individual venues may have an alternative dress code in place. Please enquire and check with the registration desk at every venue.

The prize presentation is a valuable part of every event; it allows players and families to mingle, socialise and is a tremendous opportunity to interact with others.

The Champions Golf Tour has a very proud reputation for our friendliness and sociable side, which can often be found lacking in the golf world. Therefore all players are expected to stay for every presentation.
